Quick Review: Comparatives & Relative Clauses

Two more A2 tools you’ll lean on heavily in B1.

Notice

  • This city is bigger than my hometown. (comparative)
  • It is the most expensive restaurant in town. (superlative)
  • The woman who lives next door is a doctor. (relative clause)

Rule

Comparatives (-er / more) and superlatives (-est / most) compare things. A relative clause with who, which, or that adds essential information about a noun without starting a new sentence.
