Present Perfect Continuous Tense

As we know that we need to use tense in order to describe the time of action. Let us see the definition of present perfect continuous tense. Present perfect continuous tense indicates an action that is started in the past and still continuing. For example:

  • The farmer has been working in the field since morning.
  • The teacher has been taking the class for one hour.
  • I have been reading this book since morning.
  • We have been arranging a program for three months.
  • Have you not been making a profit since last week?

Note: ‘Since’ denotes a point of time whereas ‘for’ denotes a period of time.

Structure: Subject+have been/has been+Verb(+ing)+Object
