  • I used to live in a small village.
  • I didn’t use to like vegetables.
  • Did you use to play outside a lot?

Rule

Used to + base verb describes a repeated past habit or a past state that is no longer true. Negative: didn’t use to. Question: did…use to. It always contrasts the past with now.
