Can-Do Task: Role-Play and Report
Imagine you visited a doctor because you weren’t feeling well.
Your Task
First, write a short role-play dialogue (3–4 lines) between you and the doctor describing your symptoms and getting advice. Then, write 2–3 sentences reporting what the doctor said, using reported speech.
Model Answer
Dialogue: “I have a bad cough and I feel tired.” “You should rest and drink plenty of water. You must also avoid cold drinks.” Report: The doctor told me I should rest and drink plenty of water. She said I must avoid cold drinks.
