“You should drink more water.” — “You shouldn’t work so much.” — “I think you should see a doctor.”

Rule

Should/shouldn’t + base verb gives advice or opinions about what’s a good or bad idea — much softer than must/have to. It doesn’t change form for different subjects (he should, not he shoulds).
