Can-Do Task: A Fluent Comparison
Task: compare two people, situations, or opinions using ellipsis and substitution naturally.
Notice
- Example: My sister loves spicy food, but I don’t. She always orders the hottest dish, and I do the same occasionally, though I usually regret it. Neither of us enjoys bland food, though.
Rule
Your task: Write 5–7 sentences comparing two people, opinions, or situations. Use at least three structures from this module: ellipsis, so/neither/nor, and one/do so/the same.
Practice
- Planning line: what will you compare?
Answer: Personal answer. - Draft one sentence using “neither” or “nor”.
Answer: Personal answer, e.g. ‘I don’t like flying, and neither does she.’
