Can-Do Task: rewrite a plain paragraph using varied, stylistically rich syntax.
Notice
- Task: take this plain paragraph and rewrite it using at least one fronted element, one periodic sentence, and one stylistic inversion: “The team worked for months. They faced many setbacks. They finally launched the product. It was a huge success.”
Rule
Self-check: does your rewrite still make sense and flow naturally when read aloud? Stylistic variation should enhance clarity and rhythm, not obscure the meaning.
Practice
- Model rewrite using fronting:
Answer: Example: “For months, the team worked tirelessly.” - Model rewrite using a periodic sentence:
Answer: Example: “After months of tireless work and countless setbacks, they finally launched the product.” - Model rewrite using stylistic inversion:
Answer: Example: “So great was their relief that the whole office celebrated until midnight.”
