Can-Do Task: use a collocation, a binomial, and a proverb naturally in one short piece of writing.
Notice
- Task: write a short paragraph (4–6 sentences) giving advice to someone starting a new business, using at least one advanced collocation, one binomial, and one proverb.
Rule
Self-check: do the fixed expressions fit naturally into the flow of your advice, or do they feel forced and out of place? Natural integration — not just inclusion — is the goal.
Practice
- Model sentence using a collocation:
Answer: Example: “Before you launch, make sure to conduct thorough research into your market.” - Model sentence using a binomial:
Answer: Example: “Expect a few bits and pieces to go wrong in the first few months — that’s normal.” - Model sentence using a proverb:
Answer: Example: “And remember: don’t count your chickens before they hatch — celebrate real wins, not projected ones.”
