  2. 2) Is “Despite everything, we succeeded” periodic or loose?
    Answer: Periodic — the main clause (“we succeeded”) comes after the introductory detail.
  3. 3) Rewrite with stylistic inversion: “The days of easy profit are gone.”
    Answer: “Gone are the days of easy profit.”
  4. 4) Why might a writer mix periodic and loose sentences in the same paragraph?
    Answer: To create rhythm and variety, avoiding a monotonous or predictable sentence pattern.
