A quick tour back through mixed conditionals, the full passive range, advanced reporting, and modal perfects.

- The results must be checked before being published. (passive with modal + passive gerund)
- She admitted forgetting the appointment. (advanced reporting)
- I shouldn’t have said that. (modal perfect)
Rule
This review lesson revisits the five grammar areas from Modules 1–5: third conditional/wish (Module 1), mixed conditionals (Module 2), the full passive range (Module 3), advanced reporting verbs (Module 4), and modal perfects for necessity/ability/regret (Module 5).
Practice
- Combine using a mixed conditional: ‘I didn’t save money. I can’t buy a house now.’
Answer: If I had saved money, I would be able to buy a house now. - Rewrite in the passive: ‘They must finish the report today.’
Answer: The report must be finished today. - Report: ‘I broke the vase,’ she admitted.
Answer: She admitted breaking the vase. - Complete with regret: ‘I _____ (should / study) harder for that exam.’
Answer: should have studied
