Welcome to B2 — What’s New at This Level
Welcome to B2 — Upper Intermediate! At B1 you learned to connect phrases to describe experiences, events, and hypothetical situations. At B2, you move toward real fluency: understanding extended speech and complex arguments, reading articles with a viewpoint, and producing clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects.
What’s new at B2
- Third Conditional & Wish/If Only — talking about regrets and unreal pasts.
- Mixed Conditionals — combining different time frames in one sentence.
- The full Passive range, including passives with modals and perfect forms.
- Advanced reporting verbs (suggest, insist, deny, recommend) that go beyond “say” and “tell”.
- Participle and reduced relative clauses for efficient, natural detail.
- Cleft sentences for emphasis, and discourse markers for essay-level writing.
By the end of this course you will be able to present clear, detailed descriptions and write on a wide range of subjects — the official CEFR B2 benchmark.
