Quick Review: Linking Words & Past Habits
One more habit worth checking before B2: linking ideas smoothly.

- I used to live in a village, but now I live in a city.
- She would spend every summer at the beach.

Practice

Answer: Despite - I ___ (use to) live in the countryside.
Answer: used to - It was expensive. ___ , we bought it.
Answer: However - My grandfather ___ (would) tell us stories every night.
Answer: would - ___ she was tired, she kept working. (+ clause)
Answer: Although
Connect

CEFR: Reading — understand how writers connect ideas across a text, a skill B2 pushes much further.
