Can-Do Task: Write a Postcard AND Fill In a Form

Your Task

This is the key writing task of the course. It matches the official CEFR A1 writing descriptor: “I can write a short, simple postcard… I can fill in forms with personal details.” Complete all three parts.

Before You Start

  1. Part 1, postcard (40–60 words): write to a friend about a real or imaginary trip: greeting, weather, one thing you did (past simple), one plan (going to), closing.
  2. Part 2, form: fill in: Title · First name · Surname · Date of birth · Nationality · Address · Phone number · Email · Signature.
  3. Part 3, compare: write two sentences comparing the place you visited with your home town (bigger than, more expensive than…).
  4. Check every part with the list below.

Useful Language

  • Postcard: Dear… / Hi… · I’m having a great time in… · The weather is… · Yesterday I… · Tomorrow I’m going to… · See you soon! Love,…
  • Form: short answers only · nationality (Spanish) not country (Spain) · check the date format
  • Compare: bigger / smaller / hotter / cheaper than · more beautiful / more expensive than
