Describing People

Hook: Now you can describe what someone looks like and how old they are.

Notice: “She is tall.” “He has short black hair.” “My grandmother is old.” “My brother is young.”

The rule

Use be + adjective for general descriptions: tall/short, young/old, friendly. Use have/has + hair/eye description for physical features: “She has long brown hair.” “He has blue eyes.”

Practice

  1. My sister ___ tall. (Answer: is)
  2. He ___ short black hair. (Answer: has)
  3. Describe a family member using 3 adjectives.
