Hook
How do you tell a friend a short story about what you did last weekend? Let’s put everything from this module together.
Notice
Read this short narration:
“Last weekend was great. On Saturday morning, I went shopping with my sister. We bought some new shoes. In the afternoon, we watched a movie at home. On Sunday, I visited my grandparents. We ate lunch together and talked for hours. It was a relaxing weekend.”
Rule
A simple past narration usually:
- starts with a time expression (Last weekend, On Saturday…)
- uses was/were for states and regular/irregular past verbs for actions
- connects ideas in time order (first, then, after that, in the afternoon)
- ends with a short opinion or summary sentence
