Describing Your Home

Hook: Now combine everything: there is/are, prepositions, rooms and furniture, some/any — to describe your whole home.

Notice: “My house has three rooms. There is a bedroom, a kitchen, and a living room. There is a sofa next to the window. There are some books on the table.”

The rule

Build a short description step by step: how many rooms → what is in each room → where things are, using “there is/are” and prepositions of place.

Practice

  1. Write 4–5 sentences describing your own home or room.
  2. Include at least one preposition of place and one “some/any” sentence.
