Before You Start
- Make notes: Saturday morning / afternoon / evening, Sunday. What did you do? Who were you with?
- Start with a time expression and a general comment (Last weekend was…).
- Write the events in order with first, then, after that, in the evening.
- Use at least one was/were, one regular verb, two irregular verbs and one ago or last.

Model Answer
Read this example first. Then write your own; don’t copy it.
Last weekend was really relaxing. On Saturday morning I slept late, then I had a big breakfast with my family. In the afternoon I met my friend Omar and we played football in the park. After that we went to a café and I drank a lemonade. On Sunday it was rainy, so I stayed at home. I cooked lunch for my parents and in the evening we watched a film. It was a quiet weekend, but I was very happy.
